Memorandum on Resignation August 1914

This slim book is a record by Lord Morley of the proceedings of the Cabinet from 24th July until 4th August, and of correspondence and/or meetings associated with this period. The book has, pasted into the inside front cover, the following letter in Morley's handwriting: "Dear Mr. Chapman, All my meetings are cancelled for some time. Sorry I could not give you the meeting you asked for. Sincerely, John Morley" The letter is undated.
