Great Hatred. The Assassination of Field Marshall Sir Henry Wilson M.P.

This book is ostensibly about the IRA assassination of Henry Wilson, shortly after his retirement from the Army to become an M.P. However, it will be noted that we have catalogued the book in our "Home Front" category, specifically the sub-sub-category of "The War of Independence and the Irish Civil War" Nevertheless, as a narrative of the Wilson assassination, it is an excellent account of this event. But that part of the book is somewhat overshadowed by what we consider to be an excellent account of both the War of Independence and the Civil War. We strongly recommend this book, especially for any student who is a bit hazy about what went on in the island of Ireland in the three to four years following the Armistice.
