This is the story of Jack Lidsey, who spent the first two years of the war as an infantryman with the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry, being commissioned just in time to serve in the Somme Offensive.
Then he switched to the RFC, flying as an Observer in BE2s, eventually being shot down by von Richthofen in March 1917
