Pilgrimage to the Western Front. By the Men Who Went Back to the Old Front Line
We normally eschew books by veterans, partly as there are so many of them, and interesting as they may be, they contribute very little to our mission of being a resource about the war and its apparently eternal consequences.
However - this book is different. It is about veterans of the war revisiting the sites where they served , mostly in the Twenties.
The chapter titles are taken from the years in the Twenties when these visits took place. The individual visits are thus described. So what we have is obviously so much more accurate than the modern books written so long after the conflict.
