Peter Shankland

We know that Shankland was born in 1901 in Highgate, London. He died in Poole, Dorset, in 1995. He had a varied career, with a distinguished war record in World War 2. He served as an officer on minesweepers, principally HMS Speedy. It was with this ship that a long association with Malta began. He had difficulty settling down after the war, but ended up as an antiquarian book dealer, and he also wrote a number of military history books.
