This is the story of Mimi and Toutou, which was also the subject of the modern version also in this category of The Collection. There is a gap of about 40 years between this account of the expedition and the modern version. This version benefits because Shankland was able to communicate with three survivors of the expedition. This is a great yarn, which is why the story was repeated a few years ago.
