Luigi Villari MC

Villari was born in 1876. He was an Italian historian, traveller, and diplomat. He worked in the Italian Foreign Office and later was a journalist. He served as Italy's Vice-Consul in three US cities - New Orleans (1906), Philadelphia (1907), and Boston (1907 - 1910). He devoted most of his life to international problems, more especially the problems between Italy and the English speaking countries. He was also a prolific author, especially on travel in the late Russian Empire.
