Professor Sir Bernard Pares KBE

Pares was Professor of Russian History, Language and Literature at the University of Liverpool from 1908 to 1918 and than at the University of London from 1919 to 1936. During the war, he was seconded to the Foreign Ministry in Petrograd, where he reported political events back to |London. During the Revolution, he was in Siberia, supporting Admiral Kolchak's forces.
