Jan Vancoillie

Vancoillie was a Belgian Military Historian. His interest in the First World War began developing when spending his childhood holidays with his grandparents, who farmed the ground where Modem Polderhock Chateau once stood. He studied History at Kortrijk and Leuven, with an MA Thesis on Geluveld in the First World War. His speciality was the German Army and German Military Cemeteries. He worked as an independent historian and battlefield guide.
