The Eastern Front remains relatively unknown, not least because there has been so little =- relatively speaking - written about it. This well written and produced book tells the story of the whole of the opening year of 1914, rather than - as so often - concentrating on a specific period of that year. There are some very good maps and diagrams, as well as plenty of photographs.
