Prit Buttar

Buttar studied medicine at Oxford and London before joining the British Army as a doctor. After leaving the Army, he worked as a GP in the West of England. He was extensively involved in medical politics both on a national and a local basis. He frequently appeared on local and national TV and Radio, speaking on a variety of medical issues. He was also an established expert on the Eastern Front in 20th Century Military History. At the time of writing, he had published three books in his series about the Eastern Front, his latest being "Russia's Last Gasp - The Eastern Front 1916-1917" We understand that there is a fourth book in the series planned, presumably dealing not so much with the military aspect on the Eastern Front especially in 1918, but rather the political situation and how it impinged on what was happening on the ground. However, we could be mistaken...... (Posted in October 2017) Yes, the fourth book has now been published, called "The Splintered Empires. The Eastern Front 1917 - 1921", and it is indeed in the form as described above, and it's in The Collection. So we now have a major, serious study of the Eastern Front from start to finish.
