This is a First Edition, and was presented by the Author to H.W. Nevinson with the following inscription: "To H.W. Nevinson, also a spirit of freedom incarnate - this tribute of admiration & affection. From B.H. Liddell Hart 1st May 1934" Nevinson was a British war correspondent in the Second Boer War, and World War One; also a political commentator and a suffragist. He studied at Shrewsbury School and Christchurch Oxford. He also studied in Germany. In the 1880s he had become a prominent socialist. This is one of the earliest biographies of Lawrence and thus merits attention.
