The British Shell Shortage of the First World War

This book concentrates on Neuve Chapelle, Aubers Ridge, and the political battles of 1915 which followed on from these battles. The emphasis on the military side is from the point of view of the Rifle Brigade, which suffered greatly in these battles; this leading to Repington's momentous article in The Times which itself led to big changes in the Government and started the solution to the shells crisis.
