This is a welcome book, written from the German side as it is. The author has clearly carried out a great deal of research in German as well as British Archives, and has translated for the first time official documents relating to the battle. The book is well written in an accessible way and it is academically sound. We should mention that the diagrams of the fleets' dispositions at various stages of the battle are particularly good.
