The Dardanelles: Colour Sketches from Gallipoli

This is a gem of a book, written, and of course illustrated, by a very prominent war artist. There are 30 full page plates in colour, reproduced from water-colour drawings made on the spot, plus a number of monochrome illustrations. The author (obviously the artist as well) writes in a narrative manner - and as the book was published in 1916, everything is very fresh.
