The Great Push
This is a description of an episode during the Battle of Loos, in which MacGill took part (ending up wounded) as a member of the 1st/18th Battalion of the London Regiment, aka The London Irish Rifles.
MacGill was already an established author and poet and the book is written in the style of a novel of the time; nevertheless it sheds useful light on what it was like, actually fighting at the front at Loos.
