The Great War at Sea, 1914-1918

This is a relatively old (1983) review of the naval war. It is as much a history of the people involved as it is of the ships. The author describes the years leading up to 1914, the Kaiser's burning resentment of Britain's unchallenged supremacy at sea, and the headlong race to war, before he deals with the war itself.
