The Battle of the Somme - First Phase

This is a contemporary account of the battle (or at least the first phase of it) by a noted author who was responsible for other books relating to the war. We leave the reader to judge its relevance and accuracy (i.e. in modern terms). This is a First Edition. The spine is very poor although it still functions (just!) but the book remains in its original condition. The book was presented to the Collection by Dr David West, lately of the University of Northumbria. The value of the book is the median figure for similar volumes on Abe Books.
