Japan played a part in the Great War. in this war she was fighting Germany, as contrasted with her position in the next war. The country definitely contributed to the Allied cause, not exclusively in the Far East/Pacific areas. Whilst her approach to her involvement in the war may at times have been ambivalent, a contribution was definitely made. This book describes the diplomatic background to tat relationship.
