The Eastern Front. A History of the First World War
This book is exactly what the title suggests. It is one of the very few recent books to encompass the whole of the Eastern Front story. Lloyd defines this as Eastern Europe, The Balkans, and also the Italian Front.
So we have 640 pages of coverage. Lloyd was a respected First World War expert and not surprisingly this book is an excellent aid for the researcher who desires to find out why the First World War was not primarily about the Western Front.
